Sampeng Lane Map

Here is a map of the walking lane in Chinatown, Bangkok, known as Sampeng Lane – see first image below or sampeng lane. There are a lot of fabric shops! Diana drew up a map showing the shops that have 100% cotton. You may see shops that have bolts wrapped in plastic. They are for sale by the bolt. The shop numbers go in order so you can find a shop by it’s number. Even numbers are on one side, odd on the other. If you buy less than 10 meters of fabric, the price is retail. For the most part, the 100% cotton fabric is priced from $1 to $3 per meter retail. If you buy 10 or more meters which can be various fabrics, the price is wholesale which means about a 25% discount. Minimum cut is 1 meter. Many of the shops are open 8:30 – 5:00 Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays and holidays.

  1. I am a quilt /wearable art teacher who visits Bangkok frequently purchasing fabric, textiles and buttons and haunt all the shops on Sampang Lane. I would love to visit your group on one of my trips.
