Hi Jill,
I’m an entrepreneur living and working in the US. We do a lot of business with Thailand selling handmade women’s accessories made from fabric. We are looking for a company or someone who can quit a large fabric for us. We’ll then use this fabric to cut and make our accessories. Do you know of any company? Thanks, Marisa

Hi Jill, I hope you’re well.
I came across your lovely blog while researching swimwear fabric suppliers in Bangkok. I realise from the content and comments on your site that this is not easy to find! I just thought I’d check if you’ve since found any suppliers, or have any better ideas of what territories I should try.
Thank you so much in advance for your help

Hi there Jill! I’m wondering if you know where to buy a cheap hobby sewing machine in Bangkok? I´ve seen your post regarding used machines but it was from a while ago so curious if you had any updates? Thanks!

When my daughter wanted a sewing machine, I went to Central Dept Store and bought a medium priced Janome, I got the 423S model. There are Janome machines starting at 2990 baht. I have one and it works well. You can find them at Central Dept stores http://www.sewingloversclub.com/ At the Saha Group Fair end of June, you can get a discounted Janome machine. The dates for the 2017 fair are not up yet. http://fair.sahagroup.com/

Hi Jill
Can you tell me if any of the shops in the sampeng lane area sell batik fabrics? If so which ones might have more choices? Thank you. Ann

There are only batik sarongs, which are cotton and can be used for quilting. https://bkkquilt.com/2010/11/08/batiks/

Dear Jill,
Some years ago, I think it must have been in 2009 or so, I had the luck to meet you in Bangkok in person.
At that time we got connected via a member of your quilt group who had moved to Shanghai (I lived as an expat in Shanghai at that time) and you and some other ladies were so kind to show me around Chinatown for some fabric shopping. I will never forget this wonderful experience and will always be grateful for your kindness!
At the end of September my husband and I will move to Bangkok because my husband has got an assignment there.
Now my question for you. Is your quilt group still existing and if yes how can I join?
I would LOOOVE to find some fellow quilters in Bangkok!!!!
Warmest regards from cool Sweden

Hi Jill
I found your website recently as I was searching on quilting and homemaking, being based in malaysia, I love your guides on bangkok as i really relate and have found your expert advice very useful. Thank you for your amazing insght and sharing your gems.
I have been searching for a long time, and I am not sure if you may know. The last few time I have visited bangkok, I have seen alot of personalised passport covers street shop pop up at the night markets. Although they are kitchy and cool, I would love to do this myself instead of paying someone to do it, you know the joys of making one own creations.
I am wondering if you knew where the passport covers/wallets in bangkok, and also the charms? I have not seen any around even citing bobae and pratunam.
Would highly appreciate it if you knew where to find these items!
Many thanks
Wendy

I’m searching for some fabric by Michael Hill-BergFabrics. Would you happen to know where I could buy some online (I’m in Australia.) Not looking looking for hundreds of metres, but can buy 10m if necessary.
Cheers,

Hello Jill: I have a problem with a beautiful quilt that I had made in Singapore about ten years ago. The center panel is thread bare and the batting is poking out. I stopped using it several years ago but today had a thought that a local quilter might be able to do a piece repair. The size of worn panel is about 24 by 30 inches. What do you think? i live at Rangsit near to Future Park.

Hello iv just stumbled on here while looking for Hill-Berg polka dot fabric cotton, and saw someone else looking for Hill berg too, I have tried to get in contact with them but no success. I wanted to get in contact with them as I make Fabric dolls and need to know about their CE certification if possible as I like the fabric very much, its lovely to work with. Your page seems to be very helpful to all that come here and I hope you don’t mind me popping in 🙂 and would love to return if that’s ok .

Maybe Rani Fabric Center on the ground floor of The Old Siam Plaza. They have lace and dress fabric, but I don’t know if they have brocade.

Dear Jill,
First I wanted to say I love your site, your beautiful quilts and very useful guides.
My request might sound a bit strange, but I hope you can help me.
Have you ever seen the fabric, with a Hill-Berg Fabric logo printed on it’s side?
It’s all 100% cotton, cotton/poplin.Couple of months I am trying to find out the manufacturer
of this fabric, country, any info but nothing…
I managed to find out this fabric is shipped to the UK from Thailand, and in Thailand Bangkok
it’s widely available. Patchwork squares, cut and packed from this fabric in Thailand. It might be Japanese, but
manufactured in Thailand. Any information about this mysterious Hill-Berg Fabric is much appreciated.
Maybe you’ve seen this cotton on Sampeng Lane? Big variety of vintage roses, bright retro prints, elephants, love and peace etc.
Any information about this mysterious Hill-Berg Fabric is much appreciated.
Thank you so much. Have a lovely day and hope to hear from you.
Kind Regards
Tanya C.

Hi Lydia, Your enquiry may already have been answered but these are the places I go to.
Belleboo Shop is at 258 Sampeng Lane, check out Jill’s Sampeng Lane map.
Could try Kimono Fabric shop, China World Mall in Pahurat for Amy Butler or Kaffe Fassett fabrics, there are also lots of fabric shops in this mall that have stocked polka dot fabrics (all cotton) in the past.
